Mondial du Rosé® 2010Marketing successes aside, I am sure you will not contradict me if I announce that rosé wines are on a roll. Confined for many years to an image of summer drinks or picturesque holiday postcards, rosé wines have now joined the big league! The international wine critics even agree that in some regions, they are the finest expression there is of the flavours of their terroirs. This is a victory in terms of quality and recognition. Rosé owes this achievement to the ambition and determination of winegrowers and producers to master the highly complex technical and wine-making specifics these wines require. Le Mondial du Rosé® is here to laud this remarkable ascension. Four years ago, the Union des OEnologues de France chose to give the world's rosé wines particular and very specific attention. This competition is the only professional tasting within the standards required by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine, and it is reserved for rosé producers from all the world's wine regions. For its 7th edition, this key event will be focusing all its efforts on highlighting the intrinsic qualities of rosés and promoting the rich mosaic of colours and flavours they represent. On the strength of its success in 2009 with some 800 samples (including 75 sparkling wines) from 21 wine countries around the world, Le Mondial du Rosé® has entrusted this difficult task to a team of about fifty recognised expert tasters, chosen with meticulous care and representing some 15 nationalities. A medal on a bottle represents a guarantee for today's consumers that it has been tasted, judged and appreciated by a professional, and the presence of our Mondial du Rosé® seal is every bit as important. So, honour to rosé wines! Whether sparkling or still, they will always be widely appreciated for their winemaking prowess and the pleasure they procure. How to Enrol?
